1.1 Agreement

By downloading, installing, or using MouseWizard ("the Software"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

1.2 License

MouseWizard grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Software for personal or commercial purposes on devices you own or control. You may not:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
  • Redistribute, sublicense, or resell the Software
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
  • Use the Software for any unlawful purpose

1.3 Acceptable Use

You agree to use MouseWizard only on computers you own or have explicit authorization to control. You will not use the Software to access, control, or monitor another person's computer without their knowledge and consent.

1.4 Intellectual Property

The Software, its code, design, logo, and all related materials are the intellectual property of MouseWizard and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

1.5 Updates

The Software may check for updates periodically. We reserve the right to release updates, patches, or new versions at any time. Continued use of the Software after an update constitutes acceptance of any modified terms.

1.6 Availability

MouseWizard is provided as a local network tool. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the download servers, update servers, or any online services. The Software itself operates peer-to-peer on your local network and does not depend on our servers to function.

1.7 Disclaimer of Warranties

The Software is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will be error-free, secure, or meet your specific requirements.

1.8 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MouseWizard and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising out of or related to your use of the Software, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the Software shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Software in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

1.9 Termination

We may terminate or suspend your license at any time if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, you must stop using and uninstall the Software. Sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability survive termination.

1.10 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the Netherlands.

1.11 Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance.

2. Privacy Policy

2.1 Overview

MouseWizard is designed with privacy as a core principle. The Software operates entirely on your local network. Your input data (mouse movements, keystrokes, clipboard contents) is transmitted directly between your computers over an encrypted connection and never passes through our servers.

2.2 Data We Collect

We collect minimal data:

  • Update checks: When the Software checks for updates, it sends your current version number, operating system, and architecture to our update server. This data is not stored or linked to any identity.
  • Download counts: We track aggregate download counts for each platform. No personal information is associated with these counts.

2.3 Data We Do Not Collect

We do not collect:

  • Keystrokes, mouse movements, or clipboard contents
  • Personal information (name, email, address) unless you contact us directly
  • Device identifiers, IP addresses, or hardware fingerprints
  • Usage analytics or behavioral data
  • Screen content or screenshots

2.4 Local Network Data

All data shared between your computers (mouse input, keyboard input, clipboard contents) travels directly between devices on your local network using peer-to-peer connections encrypted with TLS 1.3. This data never reaches our servers.

2.5 Encryption

All peer-to-peer communication is encrypted using TLS 1.3 with self-signed certificates and trust-on-first-use verification (similar to SSH). Optional password protection adds an additional layer of authentication.

2.6 Third-Party Services

The Software does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. Our website and update servers are hosted on Cloudflare, which may process standard web request metadata (IP address, user agent) as part of its infrastructure. Refer to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for details.

2.7 Payment Processing

If you make a purchase, payment is processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles all billing, sales tax, and payment processing. We do not store your credit card number or payment details. Paddle processes your financial data according to their Privacy Policy and PCI-DSS standards.

2.8 Children's Privacy

The Software is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

2.9 Your Rights

Since we collect virtually no personal data, there is typically nothing to request access to or delete. If you have contacted us and wish to have your correspondence removed, email us and we will comply. Under the GDPR and similar regulations, you have the right to:

  • Access any personal data we may hold
  • Request correction or deletion of that data
  • Object to processing of your data
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

2.10 Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
